MLK’S CALL FOR ECONOMIC ACTION

Dear Pastor,

In response to horrific cases of injustice, celebrities and entertainers have made passionate calls for economic action. Will pastors and ministers do the same?

The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is often quoted but his message is softened to overshadow his revolutionary words.

Question: Would M.L.K. Jr. have supported today’s #BankBlack movement?

Answer: Yes. Yes. Yes…and we can prove it.

FACT: M.L.K. strongly encouraged Black people to use their money for power, respect and justice.  Simply listen to his unfiltered words on the Blackout Coalition homepage and/or the Blackout Coalition map page.

How powerful would it be to hear pastors and spiritual leaders actively encouraging their congregations to set up accounts at Black banks? With or without the help of the Black church, the #BankBlack movement will continue to grow. However, it cannot be overstated that your participation would take this economic movement to another level. Will you join us? #BlackLivesMatter
